Dr. Arthur Rutscher opened Somerset Animal Hospital in March 2008.
Why: The clinic he owned in Stillwater (At Home Animal Hospital) was outgrowing its space. Originally looking to move the entire clinic but with limited space options in Stillwater, he decided to open a second clinic nearby. Somerset was quite a small town, only 20 minutes away from Stillwater that at the time had no local options for Veterinary Care.
Dr. Art built and prided himself in having a practice that truly cares for each pet that is seen. The staff enjoys getting to know the patients and clients. We all truly love and care about the pets that come in. We do our best to make the best experiences we can for each pet. We are a growing practice in a fast-growing community.
We currently have 3 full-time Doctors and 1 part-time Doctor. We see Cats and Dogs primarily. Dr. Art and Dr. Sadie see some exotics such as rabbits, rats, and ferrets for wellness exams, rabies vaccines, pre-surgical exams for neuters, and quality of life concerns. Exotic spays, other surgical procedures, and sick exotic pets will be referred to a clinic with a board-certified exotic veterinarian.
